Our raffle and other programs enable pastors to easily connect with the congregation in a fun, compelling format, while creating enthusiasm for fundraising by offering a chance for individual parishioners to also benefit.

We ease the workload and need for staff. Parishes are in control of the money they raise from start to finish, with our support for compliance, technology, marketing and execution.

FAQ’s

  • Yes. We are registered as a 501(c )3 with the IRS.

  • Yes.

    • Parishes that do not have the volunteer support necessary to host their own raffle.

    • Parishes that find the permitting process in their state too complicated.

    • Parishes that do not want to take the risk of “fronting” prize money that may or may not be recovered by ticket sales.

    • Parishes who want to join because they feel that the large prize amount will draw in participants that smaller prizes cannot.

    • Parishes who have reached ‘Asking Fatigue’ and view this raffle as a “soft sell” with something in it for the participant(s).

    • Parishes looking for a turn-key fundraiser with no risk.

  • The money is EXCLUSIVELY handled by the participating parish. Catholic Parish Initiatives receives no funds directly from parishioners. Once the raffle is over partnered parishes send a check to CPI (they can even wait until after prizes are distributed).

  • We keep the odds of winning to 1 in 1739 and will stop taking partnered parishes if the odds exceed 1/1739. We choose these odds to match the odds of a raffle hosted by one medium-to-large parish.

  • Each parish's pastor or administrator is responsible for composing the letter that will be sent to their respective parishioners (example templates are provided by CPI). CPI pays the postage and sends the letters based on the parish mailing list. All information contained within our partner parish mailing lists is securely stored.

  • CPI provides multiple images for parishes to use to advertise the raffle. For custom artwork participating parishes communicate directly with CPI and we provide the custom artwork based on requests.

  • If there is any extra money it is EXCLUSIVELY used for Catholic causes and is determined by the board of CPI. Input from partnered parishes is welcomed.
